HOMERUN HITTING CONTEST
Thursday, August 11 - 6pm (M Street Park)

Derby contestants are selected by the league commissioner and/or its directors. Former winners and current league leaders are given first priority. Coaches, please contact the league if you feel your player has a legitimate chance of winning the contest. The league would like to limit the field to 10-15 batters.

Any bat can be used...banned, illegal, corked, loaded, and non approved bats are all acceptable in this contest only. A temporary fence will be in place from center to right field so lefties and straight away hitters will have a fair chance. Contestants are encouraged to bring their own pitcher.

  • 1st Round - each player gets 6 outs (if you swing and you don't hit a Homerun, its considered an out)
  • 2nd Round - top 3 hitters from Round 1 move to this round (each player gets 4 outs)
  • Ties will be broken with each player given one swing to attempt to hit a home-run. Tied players will continue alternating swings until one player is ahead at the end of a round.
  • "Home Run King" is the hitter with the most homeruns in the 2nd round (NOT the combined total).
  • Prize money - $100 winner and $25 runner-up.
