PLEASURE BAY TOPS MILTON CHAMPS IN SOFTBALL FINALE

Bob "Chick" Noonan, MVP of the South Boston Softball League, fired a three-hitter last Thursday night at Lee Playground as the Pleasure Bay Lounge downed the Milton Mets, champions of their league for the past two years, in the softball finale.

The game was played as a benefit for the Jimmy Fund and a sizeable sum was collected.

Batting stars for PBL were Bob Dunkle with two hits, including a double, and "Chick" Hill, who had a homer. Dom Gentile, former South Boston High athlete, accounted for two of the three Milton hits.

Commissioner Ray Flynn and President "Bucky" Feeney presented trophies to the players and coaching staff of the PLeasure Bay team at a banquet last Saturday night in the Mint Room of P.B.L. Flynn congratulated the players and called teh fans "the greatest and most enthusiastic to be found anywhere."

Other trophies went to Francis "Mickey" Roache of the Ford Club as "outstanding sportsman" and to Harold "pluto" Ploof as MVP in the annual Old-Timers game. Jackie Farrell of Amrhein's Restaurant was present to accept the runner-up trophy for his team.
