SOUTH BOSTON SOFTBALL LEAGUE
ALL-STAR GAME TONIGHT

The South Boston Softball League all-star game will be held tonight at 6:15pm at the Christopher Lee plaground announced league president Ray Flynn.

Fred Melchione, manager of the Lower End all-stars, is expected to call on Mike Sheehan to oppose Bob "Chick" Noonan on the mound for City Point.

The game will be the first of its kind in South Boston, and already interest has risen to great heights. Most of the players are ex-South Boston High athlete stars who maintain the sense of competition traditional in the district.

Lower End lineup: Fred Melchione; manager, Mike LArkin, coach; Jim Nee 1B; Jack Farrell, 2B; Jake Fennessy, SS; Joe Scully, 3B; Bob Sullivan, Flah Flaherty, and Pat McDonaugh, outfield; Joe Casey, C; Mike Sheehan, P. Substitutes are Joe Ronca, Ron Lescinskas, Gerry McGrath, Jim Rooney, Poge Brackett, Tubba Piers and Richie Shea.

City Point lineup: Jim Crowe, manager; Chuck Neenan, coach; Jim Crowe, 1B; Jim Ridge, SS; Guy Hill, 2B; Jim Morris, 3B; John Dailey, Tom Murphy, and Bob Dunkle, outfield; Hopper Prendergast, C; Bob Noonan, P. Substitutes are Bob Donovan, Rocky DiLorenzo, Jack Conley, Bob Scaro, Gene Novicki, Bob Lancione and Mickey Roache.
