The finals of the M Street playoffs are being played this week between the YIP Club and Canavan's Pub. Both teams reached the finals undefeated. The YIP Club beat Whitey's Place and the Square Cafe to reach the finals while Canavan's beat Cassidy's Cafe and Gavin's Tavern. Both teams are evenly matched. Coach Jack O'Brien will rely heavily on the oustanding pitching of Tom Greene and the strong hitting of Pat Quigg, Tom Gorman and the rest of the team. Star outfielder Tom Sylvester of Canavan's is still nursing a bad leg and may miss the finals.

The YIP Club, with pitcher Edso Foley, and the hitting of John Evans, Bob Dunkle and Carl DiMaggio will be a tough team to beat. They also have a very good defense and their fans resemble those of the Sqaure Cafe fame. Games will be held at 7:30 all week. Com on up and enjoy some real good softball.
