M STREET SOFTBALL

UPDATE (April 30): - the BTD (Boston Transportation Department) were out writing tickets last night. If any of you received a parking ticket please do not pay it - instead, give the ticket details to your coach and have him contact me. The league will take care of the ticket.

In the future, please park along East First Street ONLY. The BTD has informed me that they will not ticket our cars (even though there are "NO Parking" signs) if parked on First Street. If you do get one follow the protocol above.

Also, last week the league directors voted on two possible rule changes for the upcoming season. The first proposed rule change was to add an additional fourth outfielder. That rule change was voted down by a 4-0 margin...meaning we will keep it the way it has been for many years; 3 outfielders.

The second rule voted on was to add five feet to the baselines (increase from 60 feet to 65 feet). Surprisingly, this rule was accepted by a 3-1 margin and will now be enforced in the M Street rule book providing that our field can safely accommodate the increase in distance. More details to follow...

Opening Day for the M Street Softball League is scheduled for Monday, April 27 with games starting at 6pm, 7:30, and 9pm. League entry fees of $475 are now due.
