Due to the heavy rain that fell on Friday night, Saturday's all-star game between the Brewers and the M Street League all-stars was postponed. With the playing field under six inches of water the field was unfit to play on. The game is rescheduled for this Saturday with the homerun hitting contest set to go off at 12:00.

Citystyle 8 - Corner Tavern 6
Citystyle scored five runs in the sixth with key hits by Pat Sullivan and Tommy Connolly, and managed to hold off a late comback by the Tavern. In the seventh, Jim Burgio hit a two out homerun to left center that cut the lead to two runs. Bob Dobay then tripled which brought the tying run to the plate. But pitcher Jim McNiff kept his cool and got the next batter to fly out.

DJ Linnehans 9 - Shannon's Tavern 1
Linnehan's pitcher John Gregorio shook off a first inning homerun by Mike Prendergast by shutting down Shannon's offense for the rest of the game. Steve Hannon and Marty Jiminez both provided big hits for Linnehan's.
Earlier in the game, Shannon's outfielder Timmy Malley injured his arm in an attempt to make a diving catch. Although in agony, Malley stayed in the game and continued to play and even managed a base hit. The league would like to wish him a speedy recovery.

Deeney O'Malley's 5 - Bay View Liquors 4
Joe Pano singled in the winning run in the top of the seventh inning as O'Malleys handed Bay View its sixteenth straight loss. John Pagel led the seventh off with a single that was followed by Brian Benoit's game tying triple. Pano then delivered the winner that gave pitcher Tommy Greene the well deserved win.

Corner Tavern 8 - L Street Tavern 3
Pitcher Mark Senna regained his early season form as he held L Street to five hits. Mike Linskey and Bob Dobay homered and drove in three runs each for the Tavern. In a losing effort, Vinny Pino collected three out of the five hits for L Street.

DJ Linnehan's 10 - Corner Tavern 7
Ronny Gurley hit a first inning grand slam and Brendan Flynn added a three-run homer in the second and Linnehan's never looked back. Pitcher's Dan Donavan and John Gregorio combined for the win.

Citystyle 13 - Shannon's Tavern 1
Revenge was on the mind of the Citystyle players as they hammered Shannon's in five innings. Shannon's defeated Citystyle 3-2 in a game played back on July 10. Chris Burnell pitched another fine game and Danny Flaherty led the offensive attack for Citystyle.

League Notes:
Congratualtions to Jimmy ahern who won a belly flopping contest held at the Eastover Resort this past weekend. It took Jimmy five flops to win the prize. Ouch!
