The M Street Softball homerun hitting contest and all-star game was played last Friday night. The homerun contest proved to be an exciting event for both players and fans. The "Homerun King" was presented to Bobby Wogan, who plays shorstop for Footprints. Bobby won the contest by putting three over the fence. The "Herculies Award" went to Jimmy Burgio, who plays first base for L Street Tavern. Jimmy got the crowd excited when he hit his last pitch an estimated 300 feet. Other notable long balls were, Steve Muldowney's 288 ft shot and Ediie Yalmokas's 290 ft launch.

Just as the homerun hitting contest ended, an unexpected heavy downpour arrived that sent players and fans scattering for cover. A half hour later the rain stopped and the game was played in a dense fog. The odd numbered teams edged out the even's 7-6. Get well Jay Malley, I hope your shoulder gets better.
