TEAMSTER'S PUB IN FRONT

As the season approaches the midway mark, every team still has a legitimate "shot" at making the playoffs. The first place Teamster's Pub is hanging on with an 8-2 mark while the Sam Moran Club is right behind at 8-3.

Broadway Haircutters is 0-2 vs Old Harbor, but 6-1 vs the rest of the league. Rumor has it that Ed Meagher (Sr.) burned the league records, so there is no way of verifying when the Haircutters last beat Old Harbor.

Meanwhile D Street Deli moved to within one game of a playoff spot as they trounced Old Harbor (again) 13-0. The next game saw D Street Deli trailing 10-5 in the last inning and then proceed to send 13 runs across the plate to steal the game from Quencher Tavern.

Teams may have to start pitching around "Rookie" Jim Burgio of K & 8th in close games if he keeps hitting those home runs. Canavan's Pub is only one game out of fourth and if they get hot they can knock off anyone of the "playoff contenders." K & 8th is only two games out of fourth while Quencher is still in the race only three back. There are clearly no dominant teams this year as any team can win any game.

Old Harbor has used a different line up every game as they try to blend in the "Rookies" with the veterans. O.H.A.C. is 5-0 with captain Jimmy Higgins in the lineup.

Sam Moran seems a little more quiet this year. Lets enjoy it while it lasts! See you at the park!
